Bio

Mark Robinson works with video, sculpture and installation. His projects have concerned language and modes of behaviour in the workplace. Work has examined the opacity of technological systems and what is at stake with an increasingly rendered digital realm. He is particularly interested in material conditions underpinning technological growth and the language of technological utopianism.

Current research led practice considers the role of place and environment in the artists imagination. He has worked immersed in the volcanic landscape of Tenerife, and virtual reality simulations of landscape, producing drawings and paintings. The rendition of images and the construction of artificial realities are seen as contested space creativity.
